Love Poems

Why not do some creative work in the English language classroom? In 10d we decided on a competition while working on the topic “Love and Relationships”.
The students had a choice as to the source of inspiration which they wanted to turn to:
- a poem called “Love is…” by Adrian Henri
- a photo of a sad-looking girl in our English book
- a number of proverbs like “Absence makes the heart grow fonder”, “When poverty comes in at the door, love flies out of the window” or “Love makes the world go round”
Every student handed in either a poem or a short story. Three English teachers looked at the products for an assessment and to find out whether the Internet had been “consulted”. And here is the winner who was given first prize with a poem inspired by the proverb “Love will find a way”. Philipp Meier. He received a big heart full of sweets, of course, as you can see in the photo.

LOVE WILL FIND A WAY
I`m flying high,
but I`ll fall so deep
because you`re caught
in your boyfriend`s keep.
But I fell in love with you
a long time ago,
though I don`t know
why I need you so.
In my dreams I see you
every day, every night
and all I want to do
is always hold you tight.
But you`re so far away
and I know that I won`t ever
reach you, but you`ll stay
in my heart forever.
In my mind, there are so many
words I would like to say
and one day I`ll say them:
`cause love will find a way!!!
I know that you are worth it,
so I`ll wait for you forever,
and once I hold you tight,
I won`t let you go, no
NEVER!!!
